The Alaska Statewide High School Science Symposium (ASHSSS) is a hands-on research, writing and oral intensive opportunity for secondary high school students of grades 9-12. Students complete experimental research projects and write a formal scientific paper based on their research. Papers are submitted to ASHSSS and reviewed and edited by scientists and returned. For those papers that are accepted into the competition, students are given the opportunity to present results of their work orally at the symposium.
