ANSEP Summer Bridge
The Alaska Native Science & Engineering Program (ANSEP™) is a longitudinal program that works with students from the time they are in middle school all the way through graduate school. Their objective is to effect a systemic change in the hiring patterns of Indigenous Americans in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. ANSEP recently expanded their program to include students interested in career paths in the biological sciences. The ANSEP Summer Bridge Component targets recent high school graduates who will be attending the University in the fall. There are two programs each summer: an Anchorage based session and a field based session. Both groups of students spend time in team building activities, taking a math course and working with engineers and scientists in internships. The schedule is demanding, but rewarding, and students rise to the challenge each year. Students who successfully complete the program are awarded scholarship support for the coming academic year. Applications and more information can be found on the ANSEP web site.
2012 Summer Bridge is May 28th- July 27th, 2012
Applications are due February 3rd, 2012.
