NIDA Research

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has summer research programs in the fields of substance abuse and addiction research via research placements with scientists. This program may include formal courses, participation in meetings, data collection, data analysis, interviewing, laboratory experiments, manuscript preparation, library research, literary reviews, and much more. This program targets high school (at least 15 years old) and undergraduate students from underrepresented groups in the biomedical and behavioral sciences (including African Americans, Hispanics, American Indians/Alaska Natives, and Asian/Pacific Islanders).  For a list of project descriptions for 2013, check out the following website: http://www.drugabuse.gov/pdf/sposummer.pdf

Internships are with a variety of research sites across the country, beginning on or about June 1st and lasting 8-10 weeks.
