RRANN

Recruitment and Retention of Alaska Natives into Nursing

The University of Alaska Anchorage’s School of Nursing houses the RRANN program. RRANN is committed to increasing the number of Alaska Natives and American Indians graduating with an Associate of Applied Science or Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree. RRANN can help students plan for admission to UAA and provide support throughout the degree programs. Supports include connections for students, adaptation to urban life, tutoring, stipend funding, and on-campus housing opportunities. RRANN is dedicated to encouraging personal growth within the academic setting while recognizing individual strengths and cultural backgrounds. The RRANN program, based out of Anchorage, serves officially declared Pre-nursing students, Associate of Applied Science nursing students, Bachelor of Science nursing degree students, and Graduate level nursing degree students. RRANN Anchorage provides services to Native students attending classes at the Anchorage, Fairbanks, Homer, Kenai, Kodiak, Kotzebue, Mat-Su and Valdez campuses.
