Trailside Discovery Camps
The mission of Trailside Discovery is to provide a broad range of outdoor environmental education experiences for students of all ages and from all economic, social, and cultural backgrounds. Trailside Discovery offers both summer programs and school outreach programs. Programs emphasize natural science & history, outdoor skills, and leadership development. Furthermore, campers learn first-hand about stewardship while attending camp. Service projects comprise a key component of each camp program. Scholarships to attend camps are available.
During the summer months, Trailside Discovery hosts week long day camps at the Campbell Creek Science Center in Anchorage, the Eagle River Nature Center in Eagle River, the Spring Creek Farm in Palmer and the Palmer Hay Flats/Cottonwood Creek Refuge in Wasilla. These camps host a wide range of ages beginning with preschool programs for 4-5 year olds all the way up to programs for 10-13 year olds. In addition, camping trips for 8-16 year olds are also available.
Summer Registration for 2012: begins February 2, 2012
Camps run from May-August 2012
