VHOP
The Ethel Lund Village Health Occupations Program (VHOP) offers Alaska Native/American Indian high school students a week-long opportunity to experience first-hand what it is like to work in the health care field. Each year the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) selects 15 Alaska Native high school students from southeast Alaska interested in the health field to visit Sitka’s Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital. Participants learn about different health careers through job shadowing and other hands-on experiences, as well as staff presentations. Housing and meals are included in program acceptance and travel scholarships are awarded for students accepted outside of Sitka.
Program Dates: April 22-27, 2013
Application Deadline: March 29, 2013
