Body at low temperature – diet

The human body at low temperatures does not feel safe – this is obvious. Winter and cold temperature – are particularly demanding factors, because the body, in order to avoid completely freezing, must produce much more energy, which is associated with greater calorie burning and nutrients. The issues of nutrition and supplementation at this time remain therefore a priority, because it’s the self-awareness, as well as the knowledge of what we deliver to our body, and how it reacts to it – let us survive this period. It should be remembered that the body consists of internal organs, systems, and many regularities, which should be looked after in a special way. Otherwise, it will not be able to function at all or it will be handicapped in a transient or permanent way. In conditions of reduced temperature, the immune system plays an especially important role, which should be constantly built and strengthened so that our immunity would be strong enough. This way, we will be able to cope with all infections, bacteria and viruses. Every human being has their own values, goals, habits, emotions and feelings, but nevertheless, when we ask any passer-by what’s the most important thing in their life, we will hear the same answer from almost everyone: health. Healthy, proportional and varied nutrition, free of highly processed ingredients, as well as high-quality supplementation – will allow us to protect our body against any negative consequences associated with cold weather.

Cold winter is the period in which the psychophysical state and hormonal balance are affected. We can then feel an increased level of fatigue, depression, lack of motivational stimulus and incomplete possibilities of coordination and concentration. These ailments, in part, are the result of too low immunity and lack of proper vitamins and minerals, as well as micro and micronutrients. It’s known that in order to properly warm and nourish the body, we need to eat more nutritious calories – so we cannot treat it clearly with fast-food meals, deep fried meals, white sugar, sweets or drink carbonated and high-sweetened squash, juices and beverages. We should focus on healthy fats, i.e. avocado, coconut oil, coconut butter, olive oil, seeds, nuts, as well as whole grains, e.g. wholemeal pasta, grain, brown rice. In addition, you should opt for vegetable soups, which will be not only very tasty, but also nutritious and healthy, and most importantly – they will warm us from the inside and improve the work of the whole organism. In addition, irrigation of the body is very important – it should be remembered that in 70% it consists of water, so regularly giving the right amount of lukewarm or warm liquids will save it from dehydration and hypothermia. However, it’s worth stressing that in the case of severe cold and lack of access to recommended and fully healthy food, it happens that we have to eat anything, but it’s important that we give our body energy. In addition, a very good form of a snack between meals that provides us with strength and vitality will be, for example: energy bars, nutrients based on nutritious protein or peanut butter. Meals should be eaten every 3-4 hours, it’s also worth paying attention to the way of eating, because the more we chew the food, the better and more intensively it’s digested and thanks to that we do not feel any discomfort.

Dietary supplements are the basis for a healthy and conscious life. In addition to the fact that it cannot run out of the right dose of fruit and vegetables, adequate supplementation is equally important. It’s thanks to it that we build the body’s immunity, prevent cold, frostbite, deficiencies, infections as well as injuries. In the winter, during the cold weather, vitamins and minerals, especially Vitamins A, E, D, C, and B are important – they support metabolic processes as well as natural resistance to microorganisms. Magnesium, zinc, iron, potassium, chlorine are the fundamental nutrients without which we will not be able to build a strong, functional and immune organism. It’s them that will make our skeletal system less vulnerable to any damage, our respiratory system will cease to be susceptible to infection, hair and nails will be nourished, not dry and brittle. In the case of cold weather, very important organs that require protection are also the heart, liver and kidneys, thanks to supplementation they will not be permanently or often irreparably damaged.
